"spring love, come back to me"
not that i ever lost these b/c these two are new to me. but, i love spring fashion. and of course these shoes. i've been on the hunt for the perfect espadrilles for the longest time. the last pair that i remember loving were the guess paisley's. and i bought those wayyyy back when i worked there. oh i wish i knew where those shoes went or even could find a picture for you to see.
but i recently found these and had to get them.
the first pair, are the shoes i'm wearing in the last post. (click here to see) i got these at TARGET!!! only $40.
the second pair, i got at sole society, they are called tamara. these were only $50. i wore an outfit earlier this week that i really wanted to show you guys with these shoes, but i just didn't get a chance to snap a photo.
also, don't be afraid to join sole society, you don't have to buy a pair every month and you are not limited to just your closet. i found these in an email they sent.
hope you guys find your spring loves. b/c i'm definitely enjoying mine!

05.23.12 ootd
the sun was shining through my bedroom window when i got up, so i was feeling a bit spring-y and put this outfit together.
i just got the shoes in and have been dying to wear them since I seen them.
just so you have a complete idea of how i wore this outfit. my hair is in a side fishbone braid. and i'm wearing some gold hoops.
here's the break down:
the shirt: was FREE. this is actually a promo belvedere vodka tee. lol
the vest: is from h&m a little while back. i think this was around $25
the skirt: is from forever 21. again with the stretchy pencil skirts. around $15
the necklace: is from turosom check her out on instagram or facebook. if you follow me on instagram or on pinterest, i've posted a pic of it there too. i'll put a picture of it below so you can see it closer
the watch: a kimora lee simmons hello kitty watch
the bangles: one from hawaii and the other is an oldie but goodie hello kitty bangle
and the shoes!!! oh the shoes. i know you guys are dying to know where they are from...TARGET!!! only $40. they are from the webster miami line. they actually have them in a coral-y color too. i'm contemplating on if i should get them they are soo cute.
and ladies...these are comfy. i walked around the whole lake at my work yesterday and i was still good to go! and they fit true to size if you are wondering what size to get.

05.23.12 afternoon run
My Wednesday night workout is normally pretty routine, but today I forgot to put my gym bag in my car. FAIL!!
So instead I came home put my running clothes on and went for a run around the lake.
Today was really really windy. So an already challenging run got pretty tough. The second half had a headwind almost 100% of the time. And dust was blown into my eyes more than a couple of times. Definitely not a good feeling. I even got slapped in the face so hard with dirt, that I flinched. Luckily for me, my eyes were closed.
This run could have very well been harder than Bay 2 Breakers last Sunday.
But, I refused to give up and I finished strong. A lot stronger than I thought. I finished in under 50 minutes. But I still have to train a little more to get to my best time of 48:07

bay 2 breakers 2012
yesterday was my first event of the year, Bay 2 Breakers 2012. i was a little apprehensive seeing that i haven't been able to run much this year. or have just been to lazy to get out there on the weekends. we'll say it's a little of both.
i was determined to get at least one run in before the race. that way i wouldn't be too nervous and i would know where my running stride is currently and blah blah blah. so, i go a run in a week before the race, saturday, may 12th to be exact. and i actually surprised myself. my time of course wasn't the best, but being that my last run was on january 15 i didn't do too shabby. i was able to make it around the lake (4.5 miles) in 51:44, pretty much around my average.
so, i was feeling pretty good about myself the day of the race. still a little nervous, but i always am before a race. the weather was gorgeous. the sun decided to come out and play, but it definitely wasn't too hot. i ran the whole race at a pretty good pace. i stopped at the water stop around mile 5 and ran the rest of the way out. i could definitely feel the effects of not training before the race b/c around mile 6 i was slowing down. but i powered through and finished strong.
my official time last year was 1:24:55. see what you can do when you train. lol i still can't believe i did that well last year. but this year i wasn't too far behind.

Warby Parker
when i mentioned to one of my best friend's, dee, like a year and a half ago that i needed to get some new glasses she directed me to warby parker. i loved the designs, but i wanted to see in person how they looked on my face. they have this application, called the virtual try on, where you could upload a picture and then click on a pair of glasses and see how you looked in them. pretty cool, but still not the real thing. and i was still apprehensive. and there are only a couple of places in the city that carry them, and i just never made the time.
but when browsing through the site again the other day, i noticed that they now have a 5 day trial period. you pick 5 frames and they send them to you for 5 days ... for FREEEEEEE!!! hey you can't beat that.
and the price of the glasses is only $95 with the prescription lenses. ANNDDD...for every pair that's bought a person in need of glasses gets a pair too. look at me, i've given about 9 kids in need shoes from all the toms i have and now i'm gonna give someone in need glasses. woo hoo! i'm such a do-gooder. lol
wanna help me pick out my frames...
if you wanna go buy a pair and give someone else in need a pair, here's the site: http://www.warbyparker.com/http://www.warbyparker.com/

Outfit of the Day 05.08.10
i got a new scarf from one of my best friend's, jill. and i really really wanted to wear it. and it was so nice outside that i knew i wanted to wear a skirt.
here's the outfit i cam up with. i'm sorry the picture quality is so bad. i took all the pictures with my iphone and i didn't have great lighting, but you get the idea.
the shoes are from sole society so they were only $49.99. they were called, jill. here's my original blog post about them (click here) and it's taken me this long to finally wear them. that's ok b/c the outfit came together quite nicely.
the skirt is from forever21. it's one of those stretchy pencil skirts that cost about $15. it came in so many different colors, and i definitely bought a few different colors.
the tank top is a plain black tank. it's a the ever so famous mossimo racer back that i seem to have every color of and wear every time i document an outfit of the day. lmao!
the cropped denim jacket was actually a gift from a couple of years ago. i don't remember the brand, but i do remember she bought it from macy's.
and the lovely scarf, is from my friend jill. she has a couple left for sale. let me know if you want one. i'll see what colors she has left and how much they are. and i love my new way of wearing scarfs.
adding a little color to mine with some turquoise and orange...i hope i've inspired you to do the same.
