nyx chaos

found another red that i like. i usually have a really hard time finding a red shade that i like b/c it if it has orange undertones it makes me look really orange.

but i've found a couple that i really like. in the wet n' wild matte collection, 906D LOOOVVVVEEE that one. loreal's infallible line, the beyonce red. and now this!

up close!

since, i bought all those lipsticks from hautelook, i guess more lipstick blogs are coming your way. lol

hautelook = devil

oh hautelook you are the devil. oh man. it's almost like target to me. you go there looking for one thing and then you end up with $100 in your cart. and the deals on hautelook are just sooooo good.

i'm always on the look out for nice reds, pinks, and nude lipsticks. and nyx had a deal a little while back. i just couldn't help myself. oopsy! look what i ended up with

i've been wanting to try the nyx lipsticks for awhile now and they had all the types of shades i wanted lol. looks like i get to try out a whole lot. and i'm really into blush sticks so i'm going to try those out too.

whoa! bebe is now selling bridal gowns

As I was going through my personal email this morning, I noticed an email titled, "Perfect bridal gowns for every wedding setting." And the sender was bebe.com. I knew I read it, but I just didn't know what to expect. Here's what I saw when I opened up the email:
A little more curious, I opened up the site:

The dresses are really cute. I don't know why I was so initially shocked to see that they would eventually venture into bridal gowns. I mean bebe did start as a women's tailor shop, customizing suits for women.

Ladies, I guess you have more more place to dress shop when looking for you bridal gowns. They have bridesmaids dresses too, but not may styles available just yet.

thank you groupon

i've wanted to try bikram for awhile now. and i never did b/c the studios were always far and it's always HELLA expensive. so, with that being said i was always reluctant to try. and then i got an email from groupon giving me a chance to try 20 classes for only $30. and the studio is in daly city! enter glowing lights and me chanting ahhhhhhhh!

so i bought the deal. and it just so happened that my friend janelle bought the same deal. so we chose a day to meet up and i've been going ever since. my bikram routine is on tuesday and thursday nights, but they keep saying to get the full benefits of bikram you should go 3 times a week. so i'm trying to incorporate a weekend day in there somehow.

the first day i tried it, i honestly did not know what to expect. i got through the whole class, and did every single pose. i was even surprised that my balance was still pretty good. but, definitely felt exhausted after class. i really felt like i just finished a marathon, light headed and a bit foggy. lol

in the second and third class, i was pretty disappointed with my balance, but again i did every single pose.

but last night, i definitely felt some improvement. i felt like my standing poses were so much better, less wobbling and leg dropping. and i just felt good about the class. and this was the first time the instructor never opened the door until the very end. whoa, i was definitely spoiled by the other classes where the teacher would let some fresh air in. and this was the first class that i wore only a tank and shorts and i felt like this class was the class i sweat the most in. lol

i'm enjoying my bikram routine and am honestly dreading the day my groupon deal will be over. b/c again membership is just soooo damn expensive. hopefully i'll be able to find another deal.

what no spinach!!!

looked in my fridge yesterday and i ran out of spinach to juice with. so i looked all throughout the fridge and notice some kind of leafy greens in one of the bins. i asked my mom what it was, and she said the chinese lady at the grocery store said it was sweet pea leaves. my dad sounded reluctant about me juicing it, but i was gonna do it anyway. and my mom continued to say that the lady told her that you can eat it raw, so that confirmed it, i'm juicing them!
and i did

used the pea shoots (as my cousin the cook called them)
2 celery
3 carrots
1/2 cucumber
2 apples
1 orange
1/2 cup blueberries
i'm drinking this as i type and i think another orange would have been nice. but, it still tastes good and i'll be using these again.

yes, i'm still juicing

to everyone that's asked, yes, i'm still juicing. i just haven't really posted anything about juicing b/c i haven't really tried anything new.

here's what i always use as my base:

at least 3 carrots
a cup of spinach
2 celery
apple - amounts vary
orange - amounts vary

and then from there i put what ever i see in my house.

strawberries
pineapple
cucumber
kale
blackberries
blueberries
mango
ginger

anything really...

i seen a post recently from one of my friends saying she didn't like the juice she made. a friend of her's told her to take the celery out and add an apple. but really apples cancel out or even out the celery taste so just adding an apple or two would have helped. you can always disguise the taste you don't like, so you still get the nutrients.

my parents didn't like the celery taste either. so for them as a general rule, i'll use 2 celery sticks and 3 small apples or 2 big apples. they would never know. or even if they did, it tastes great so no more complaints.

one thing that i did try and DID NOT like was beats. but, i would try it again to see i can find the right ratio for that. i think i was a little to excited and used the whole beat and the leaves. YUCK!!! literally tasted like dirt.

have any suggestions for me to try? please pass them along... and let me know how you like my recipes...

San Jose Giants Run = Me EXCITED!!!

I ran the San Francisco Giants half marathon last year and it turned out to be one of my favorite courses. Partly b/c I made a personal best running that race, but, really, the course is beautiful. And a good run, with some parts being pretty challenging.

Anyway, I got an email saying that the Giants minor league team in San Jose has a run too. This on is a 5k or a 5 miler. I didn't think I would want to do this course, but I was reading the email and I decided why not. I think the surprise you get from running both the SF Giants Race and the SJ Race intrigued me. Lol

You also get a free ticket to watch the game after the race and each additional ticket is only $5. I figured why not buy a ticket for my whole family. I've never been to a minor league game, I thought it would be fun. But, then I thought, why not have them do it with me. So, I convinced my parents to do the 5k and my sister joined the 5 mile with me.

We are all officially registered!!! Woo hoo!!!
